Here is a pair of fossil fish from the world-famous fossil beds of Fossil Lake, Green River Formation, Wyoming. From the Eocene, 52 million years ago.
From the ash layer of the sandwich beds of Fossil Lake, this plate features a complete Knightia eocaena and a partial Knightia. Measuring approximately 2.2\" and 3.6\" in length, these specimens feature decent ray fins and caudal fins (tail) as well as natural golden-brown pigment, which is found in this layer of the lake.
The plate is about 5.6\" x 5\" and weighs 13.45 oz.
