These photos were apparently cut from a larger picture. Similar images appear on the internet erroneously stating that this is King George V and his wife Queen Mary on the HMS Medina in 1911. However, he would have appeared older then and would not be wearing a equerry uniform. The Tsar and his family visited the Isle of Wight on the Imperial Yacht Standart in 1906 and attended the Royal Naval Review of that year in the Solent. This review amrked the first appearance of a Dreadnought battleship and was therefore of greater than normal signficance.

Frame size 4" x 2.5". Each photo is 2" x 1.25". Excelleng condition. No marks or foxing.

Presented in a contemporary gilt photo frame. One of a kind.
