This is a taxidermy rattlesnake which belonged to American author Truman Capote. It was purchased at Clary and Co. Antique store in NYC. There was a mention of the rattlesnake along with an assortment of holiday ornaments and other personal items for sale in New York Magazines Best Bets column written by Rima Suqi. I have had the snake restored and a glass case made for it. The photo of Truman Capote with the snake was taken by Michael McKenzie for a series of authors in their homes.
