About the Artist/Athlete…

Currently a competitive master’s runner who regularlylogs 50 and 60 mile weeks, Kevin began as a cyclist back in the 1970’s when healso swam. Now, training just around the corner from Encinitas, CA,he is regularly inspired by some of Triathlon’s most notable figures who havemoved there for year-round training. Kevin Prochaska is also an accomplishedartisan whose work appears throughout the world. His original sculptureshave been awarded to celebrities to honor their achievements, appeared in majorHollywood film productions, and adorned theChristmas tree at the White House.

The good fortune to live just down the street fromswimming legend Janet Evans when she was winning gold medals planted the seedfor the artist to someday craft a sculpture to honor those who train so hard. Kevinand his wife still recall sitting in their favorite restaurant in Placentia, CA watching andcheering Janet along in her quest for gold in Seoul.Now, many years later, and inspired by the sport of triathlon, Kevinoffers this hand blown glass sculpture. Measuring approximately 6.5 inches longand 4.5 inches tall, it is made entirely by hand of borosilicatecrystal. The artisthopes this wonderful portrayal captures the spirit and form of the swimmer.Sculpture is personally signed by the artist. Swimmer retails at specialty shops for $199.00.
