According to the Congregation for Divine Worship of the Holy See, the Carmel Scapular is an external sign of the special, filial and trusting relationship established between the Virgin, Queen and Mother of Carmel, and the devotees who entrust themselves to her. with total dedication and confidently resort to his intercession.

The scapular is now also known as the \'little habit\'. A reduced form has been established for the lay faithful. It consists of two small squares joined by cords. On one side, the image of Our Lady of Carmel is reproduced, on the other, the Heart of Jesus. It is a miniature of the Carmelite habit. Whoever wears the scapular becomes part of the Carmelite family and consecrated himself to the Virgin. The scapular is therefore a visible sign of the covenant with Mary.

Pope Pius XII decreed that the scapular could also be replaced by a medal. This medal retains the meaning and value of the classic scapular, provided that the first time it is used, a first imposition equal to that made on the scapular itself is made. This imposition must be done by a priest and accompanied by a special prayer.

Today, in physical stores and online, jewelery scapulars in wood and metal, often silver, decorated with rhinestones, or in fabric are available. They can be worn as jewelry and this makes them even more accessible to all the faithful who want to express their devotion to Mary and their willingness to embrace the spiritual and life principles of the Order of Carmelite

Consider God first in his life and always do his will;

Listen to the Word of God in the Bible and put it into practice every day;

Seek communion with God through prayer;

Show mercy and share in the sufferings of others and help those in need as much as possible;

Receive the sacraments regularly.

Considerar a Dios primero en su vida y siempre hacer su voluntad;

Escuchar la Palabra de Dios en la Biblia y ponerla en práctica todos los días;

Buscar la comunión con Dios a través de la oración;

Mostrar misericordia y participación en los sufrimientos de los demás y ayudar a los necesitados tanto como sea posible;

Recibir los sacramentos regularmente.
