The ToonTown Grand Opening Day Media Only Promotional Item is a rare collectible produced by Disney in 1993 to celebrate the grand opening of Disneyland\'s ToonTown. Less than 150 of these items were made, making it a highly sought-after piece of Disneyana. This promotional item was exclusively given to media personnel who attended the grand opening day of ToonTown. The product is a unique piece of Disney history and a must-have for any serious Disney collector.
The item does show a little wear on and around the Mickey Ears, but being over 31 years old, it is in remarkably great condition. The item is a miniature version of the old \"On Air\" microphone, with enhanced Mickey Ears, and Grand Opening Plate with the date of the Grand Opening, January 26, 1993. The Microphone plays AM Radio with 4 AA Batteries (Not included) it has never been used, but all knobs and on and off button are all intact with working parts.
Researching this Item has been very difficult as only 150 were every made, which makes this a very vary Rare Collectable. I personally received this item from a local radio on air personality, here in Los Angeles, that attended the Grand Opening. Knowing that I was a huge Disney collector it was given to me knowing I would appreciate it more. After all these years I\'m downsizing my collection and hoping that someone else will also appreciate this rare peace of Disneyana as I have.
