Ortiz is best known for his stints with theUltimate Fighting Championship(UFC), where he is a formerLight Heavyweight Champion, having held the title from April 14, 2000, to September 26, 2003.[2][3]Along with fighters likeRandy CoutureandChuck Liddell, he was one of the sport's early stars. Ortiz ultimately became the biggestpay-per-viewdraw of 2006 for his fights with Liddell,Forrest Griffin, andKen Shamrock.[4]
