Pierre-Philippe Thomire(1751–1843) a French sculptor, was the most prominentbronzier, or producer of ornamental patinated andgilt-bronzeobjects and furniture mounts of theFirst French Empire. This particular piece was made by Thomire in 1815.The swans grace the sides and flow down to the three cherubs.
This is being sold as found, with wear commensurate with age. This piece is signed Thomire a Paris. It was brought back from France by the original owners family.
This measures 19\" tall and is solid Bronze. The piece has one inner finial that is a little bit loose. The piece is patinated due to age and has scratches and wear on it.
