Hans Wilhelm Hertzberg (* 16. January 1895 in Lauenburg i. Pomerania; † 1. June 1965 in Kiel) was a German Protestant theologian and expert on Palestine.

Life: Hans Wilhelm Hertzberg was the son of a brewery owner. From 1913 he studied Protestant theology in Marburg and Berlin. He received his doctorate in Berlin in 1919 with a Lic. theol. and became a private lecturer in the Old Testament there in 1921.

From 1923 to 1930 he was provost and administrator of the German Evangelical Palestine Institute in Jerusalem. In 1931 he was appointed associate professor in Marburg (until 1947) and was also pastor in Caldern from 1932 to 1936 and director of studies at the Hofgeismar Protestant preacher seminary from 1936 to 1946. In 1946 he became prelate of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck in Kassel. In 1947 he was appointed full professor of Old Testament and Palestine studies at the University of Kiel.
