For the collector, The Loyal War Governors’ Conference 50th anniversary program, 1912. This official guide and invitation took place September 24th, 25th, and 26th, 1912 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. This is a conference which originated with a call to the governors of all the states loyal to the Union in 1862, where thirteen northern governors of the United States came together to support the policies of President Abraham Lincoln. Beautifully intact, the cover conference name and date, and includes a portraits of President Abraham Lincoln and Pennsylvania Governor Andrew Curtin inside gold embossed frames with embossed American flag and flag of the State of Pennsylvania. Bound by a ribbon, the program is four pages long, and includes a title page, program page, information page, and General Committee page. Back cover features a sketch of The Logan House, where the first committee meeting took place in Altoona in 1862. This program for The Loyal War Governors’ Conference documents the events held in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of that meeting.
