Presenting an exceptionally fine \"The Melbourne Harbor Trust Commissioners 1877\" red and blue enamel badge made by Stokes and Sons Melbourne.This superb example has a very early members number of 174 struck in to the reverse side.This fabulous vintage badge features a central crossed anchor motif in brass, and reversed out in an exquisite rich blue enamel.The lettering is reversed out of a vibrant red enamel which is contained within twisted rope edging surrounding the anchors.SIZE: This impressive enamel badge measures approx 30mms in width.CONDITION: This fabulous badge is presented in excellent vintage condition with no losses or damage. The enamel is exceptionally fine, remaining wonderfully vibrant and lustrous with only a few really light scuffs noticeable only on really close inspection in bright raking light but mentioned for complete accuracy. The brass has developed a fantastic patina that only time can bring and is presented in as found condition with totally untouched patina. The original brass lugs for affixing this badge to a cap remain in place. This superb example has been very well cared for and presents spectacularly.

This fantastic badge would make a fine addition to any vintage enamel badge collection!
