This week I\'m offering a number of old non-sport cards from various vintage sets. Before the Second World War, a set of cards was issued that had the distinction of being one of the last major tobacco sets of the 20th Century, a series of three 50-card sets showcasing various types of planes. The brand of cigarettes issuing the cards was Wings Cigarettes, so it should come as no surprise that the cards are colorful, well illustrated, and that the backs have a lot of information any airplane enthusiast would want. Three sets were issued - the first set of fifty carried no series letter, until the success of the promotion had the company reprint the cards with a \"Series A\" designation on the back. Series B and Series C soon followed, for a total of 150 cards (200 if you collecti the \"No Series\" and the \"Series A\" cards separately). Slightly smaller than modern cards, printed on very thin cardboard, these cards remain highly collectible and popular in the non-sport hobby.Here I have a terrific starter lot, 42 different out of 50 in the \"B\" second series. The lot includes #1-5, 7-11, 13-16, 18-22, 24, 25, 27, 29, 31-34, 36-50. The cards show corner wear, but most have no creases and they present very nicely (see scans for condition). Not too bad for cards that are over seventy years old. This would be a terrific addition to any collection!Shipping is $3.50 for First Class Mail, and postage will be combined for multiple winnings.
