Here is a very large unpolished slice of \"Wildfire Bacon Opal\" from Milford, Utah. It measures about 6.15\". It weighs 287 grams (0.63 lbs). That is because part of it resembles a strip of bacon, and part of it resembles a wildfire. It is about 10.5 mm. thick (varies slightly).
One photo shows it with a flashlight on the other side, shining through the piece.
Just a gorgeous natural piece! Hold it to the light and there is a strip running through it that looks dark against something, but lets the light pass through!
As with all minerals, we suggest you wash your hands after touching it.
