Superb quality and in amazing original condition is this rosewood drop dial clock dating to C1850. The 8 day twin fusee movement with shaped shoulders has recently been overhauled and oiled and is in excellent working order. Striking the hours on a bell with a lovely mellow tone. It has the benefit of having cable wire instead of the old cat gut and will last for many years to come giving the buyer piece of mind. The condition is outstanding and all mother of pearl inlay is intact and has twin side inspection doors and working lock and key for bottom door. The \"12\" inch dial with original paint and steel hands with convex glass and cast brass bezel is signed for \"Salt\" of Walsall[West Midlands]. The carved ears are simply fabulous and overall condition of the clock is what i would call immaculate and very rarely do i use that term for an antique. Complete with long pendulum and winding key.
