Usually I don't deal much with Graves Mountain material since the market is saturated with low grade specimens. However, I made an exception for this specimen since it is eye-catching with no obvious damage. The specimen is covered with juxtaposed bright blue-white kyanite crystals that are perched up above the quartz matrix! They are quite shiny and have an almost gemmy appearance. The bottom half has more kyanite coated in rutile staining ever more so as it grades downwards. The quartz also grades in clarity as it goes downwards. Overall, really great example from Graves Mountain!
