the plastic original case and gold colored cardboard insert/pedestal it came in, are included, and are near impossible to find,
the stork itself is about 7 3/4"
it includes the original rare original Sortilege glass perfume vial with it's original screw on lid. the combo is about 4 3/4" tall.
i am including free of charge a perfect condition glass bud vase, or flower holder, perhaps is the right word, so you can put a flower w water in the bud vase and it is held in the storks claw so to speak, for times you do not want the perfume vial in its claw.
the sortilege vial is original and much rarer and so you get the satisfaction of having both styles.the bud vase is of the style that you most frequently see, but the extra free bud vase is not original, you did not get a bud vase w the sortilege at the original purchase, so a bud vase was never part of this set originally. but you get the benefit of both since i am including free of charge a newer bud vase.
interchange the vials/vase for display depending what your mood is.
the red facsimile rose, likewise is very scarce. the red rose has seen better days and i will include it free to the buyer. it completes the original set and is very rare in any condition.
the Sortilege perfume vial contains something, it is dried out perfume - (big surprise), i will put a piece of saran wrap under the cap and reseal the cap in case the buyer is interested in taking a wiff or wants to try to reconstitute the contents by adding a few drops of water perhaps? who knows if that will work???. you can clearly read Sortilege on the side of the perfume vial in gold colored letters
their is a girls name stamped on the bottom of the platform, i was told these were given to sorority members who attended an event at the Stork Club. i am not sure if one girl from each table won the table topper prize or??

The Stork Club operated from 1929 to 1965. As one of the most prestigious clubs in the world it was patronized by wealthy elite, cafe society members, movie stars and aristocrats. It saw lots of famous guests.
in a SEPARATE sale i am selling the "cabaret card" of sherman billingsly, that nyc licensing required employees of certain establishmenst to hold in order to work. an awesome rare item that is in a seperate sale.
The iconic winking stork centerpiece was on the dinner tables of the club. Approximately 8 inches tall. supposedly Sherman Billingsley ,the owner of the New York City club, designed these centerpieces. the sortilege perfume version is much rarer than the bud vase version. Originally a speakeasy, owned by Oklahoman and ex bootlegger Sherman Billingsley. The club shut its doors 1965. Sherman died one year later. What a wild ride he had in life. The club was first located at 132 West 58th street but in 1931 but moved to 3 East 53rd street after trouble with the prohibition boys. By 1936 the club was grossing a million dollar and in 1946 Billingsley purchased the building for $300,000 cash, thus increasing its space.
