This vintage Stork Club NYC ashtray is a unique piece of memorabilia that captures the essence of a legendary nightclub in New York City. The club was operating between 1929-1965. It was at one time a speakeasy. It was the most exclusive nightclub in America at one time. Even the owner (Billingsley) could not remember how the club got its name but the stork icon is famous. This ashtray is the more rare blue and white ceramic version the other is the black and white. These were often stolen as souvenirs. I have included a few photos of celebrities using ones just like this one.

The ashtray was most likely created by Louisville Stoneware. Mr. Billingsley was originally from Kentucky so that makes sense. This one is in excellent condition with the only defects being those inherent to the manufacturing process. It is unmarked but that is consistent with some other examples.

This particular ashtray was recently discovered at an estate sale in California so maybe it did once belong to a celebrity or movie star. It is now your story to tell!
