Hard to find Steinbach musical toys. These figural wooden dolls depict a boy and a girl. The boy I believe is Eulenspiegel from German folk tales. The nose slightly resembles Pinocchio. The girl is representative of a peasant girl of the Germany/Rhine Valley area. These toys are handmade and painted. They both have a music box inside that is activated by spinning or whirling the attached stick. They play different tunes. I took a video of one, but will not allow me to post two videos. They both have a red wood base for display. I believe these date to the 1960s. They very much look like the nutcrackers that Steinbach is famous for creating. They stand 12\" high in the base. The base is 3\" wide. Shows minor wear. Please see photos and video for details.
