Handsome pair of original StavOak end tables or side tableswith glass top insert designed by Jobie G. Redmond and made from Jack Daniels’barrel staves. These tables are in wonderful ready to use condition. They havebeen completely restored by our experienced staff. Please see photos. Circa1981. NOTE: We have several pieces listed here from this line incase you are interested in others. These end table are totally awesome! Quite the combinationof modern and rustic. We are completely smitten. They were designed in 1978 byJobie G. Redmond of High Point, North Carolina, whose family background was infurniture making, to be made using Jack Daniels’ used barrel staves. He washired to do so by Jack Daniels Distillery. These first pieces were presented atHigh Point North Carolina furniture market in the Spring of 1979 and ready forthe market in 1981. They were marketed as StavOak and each piece bears a barrelshaped brass tag. Later, similar pieces were made by Davis Furniture Companyand called Jack Daniels No. 7. The tables are comprised of a rectangular pictureframe style top with a glass insert that is rather cantilevered and connected toa sled style base by eight barrel staves which run this way and that from topto bottom, four staves at each side of the table creating a very interestingpattern. There are two stave stretchers running from sled base to base. Strikingand sturdy. They have a dark applied stain to the gorgeous oak and a handrubbed look to the finish. These tables would be perfect in your modern countryor mountain home and equally as nice in your industrial loft. Or in your bararea, rec room, or man cave no matter your style. You need to make them yours!
