Sparton 557 Radio “The Sled” Art Deco Blue Mirrored Glass 1930s Vintage Tube:

This vintage Sparton 557 radio, often called "The Sled," is a rare gem for collectors. Made in the United States during the 1930s, it is one of the most sought after designs for a tube radio, a beautiful Art Deco design with blue mirrored glass and chrome accents.

This radio is 1930s and features a vacuum tube system. The wires are delicate and fragile and the power cord has been removed since it was damaged. Tubes look to be in great condition but it’s unknown if this radio works or not in its current condition. There is some silvering and speckling in the mirror due to age as would be expected, and a small scratch barely visible on the top mirror. The left side mirror is missing, see photos. The radio has its original black and silver crystal finish, with very few areas of wear. A wonderful candidate for restoration.

This radio will be shipped in two separate boxes, due to the fragile nature of the mirrored case. The case will be in one box and the radio chassis and tubes in another box. Local pickup is possible in the Rochester MN area.
