This vintage postcard from 1909 depicts the Sparkman Street Bridge in Memphis, Tennessee. The bridge spans Cumberland River looking down river. In the distance is the L & N Railway Bridge. The bridge company’s offices are on the right bank. The bridges are a testament to the engineering feats of the time. It is the first bridge to have concrete arched trusses. It is now a pedestrian bridge on the historic register. The postcard is an original, vintage piece and has been postmarked.
