When we acquired this small group of interesting survival tools from a Moscow Russian in 1992, the Soviet Union was coming to an end. As far as we know, further development of this survival tool was terminated as the Military Services re organized. If any of you collectors have any additional information it would be greatly appreciated.This multi purpose survival tool has a steel blade with a cutting edge in the front and on the side for digging and fighting. The opposing side of the blade is a saw and the center of the blade has a slot for extractions. The back side of the blade has an elevated wrench platform with several nut sizes and shapes. The resin or plastic handle has a screw on pommel, accessing a hollow in the handle forthe insertion of additional survival gear, which is not included. The fabric holster has a flap, velcro closure with an additional pocket in the flap and a belt loop.This is proto type military survival gear from the twilight of the Soviet era
