Six Vintage Lithographed Die-Cut Postcards from California:

These fancy die-cut postcards from the 40s and 50s are works of art in themselves. Two of the postcards are the same (cablecar), one in good shape, the other not-so-good. Here’s the breakdown of each one:

—State of California (postmarked July 28, 1947). Signed by Max Poschin. Approximately 10 inches long. Good shape.

—Catalina Island (postmarked July 5, 1946). Signed by Max Poschin. Approximately 10 inches long. Good shape.

—San Francisco cablecar (version #1) (postmarked June 28, 1957) E.F. Clements. Rough shape. Some bends.

—San Francisco cablecar (version #2). (Postmarked June 28, 1957). E.F. Clements. Much better shape than the other one. Slight bend in lower left corner. Otherwise, good shape. Approximately 10 inches long.

—Lake Tahoe (unposted). E. F. Clements. Good shape. 8 3/4 inches long.

—Alcatraz Island (unposted). Signed 1952 by Stephen J. Rossi. Approximately 10 inches long. Good shape.

For the ones that are posted, it’s amazing they weren’t bent, folded, or mutilated in some way because of their size. Thanks to the post office, they made it intact!
