I spent many years working in a golf shop in my hometown of St.Andrews, fife and we would get many "Celebrities" come in during the British opens and Dunhill competitions.

I asked Sir Sean to sign this cap in 2004 when he came in to the shop during his the Royal and Ancient Autumn medal tournament he was playing in. He spent a good hour in the shop chatting to myself and my co worker about pitching wedges and hybrid irons and how his putting was off the last few days.

Before he left i asked if he would please sign a cap for the shop to go on our display wall (we had a few caps signed by golfers etc") He declined at first as he told us that he only signed "things for charity" at that time due to people "selling autographs on to only make money" (So sorry, sir sean)

As he said we were "Good guys" he did sign the cap for me, then thanked us for the time and chat, and left.

One of the best memories i have.

So unfortunately due to these times and the business i am in now, i need to sell some items and this is part of it, i do feel bad as this is exactly what Sir Sean was against and he made that clear but needs must and as a fellow Scot i hope he will forgive me. I feel now with Sir Sean's family announcement that his ashes will be scattered on the old course then it makes this cap even more special and it needs to go to someone that can have it on proper display in an office or shop, not in a bag in the loft like it is at the moment.

The cap is a white 100% cotton adult Callaway golf cap, i took it from the shop wall so it was shop stock (i did pay for it! ;) )

The old course logo is embroidered into the cap and is of top quality work as you would expect from logoed goods from the home of golf. The cap has never been worn but was on display for a while in the shop so has got some dust/dirt on the top but not stained. The signature was written using a permanent black marker.

I can go down the route of getting a COA but i feel anyone looking to buy this item will know straight away that this is a genuine and very rare item. I am happy to send any further info or photographs so please ask.
