Description: Approximately 10 x 7.5 inches, a fragment of a larger legal document, dated 1637, signed by Sir Richard Lane, Lumley (probably John Lumley, 1612-1658, of Lumley Castle, Durham), and appears to be addressed to Sir David Cunningham, 1st Baronet of Robertland. A number of other signatures adorn this, too. Lane (1584-1650) was a well known English barrister. In 1637 he was elected as treasurer of the Middle Temple, and it seems it was in this capacity that this legal document was written. It seems to be about payments to an Anthony Linton in the sum of five pounds, but hard to decipher exactly what\'s going on from so few lines. Poor.
