Historic Silverado Country Club Treasures from Saturday's Toys presents... an original 1973 Western Electric 500 Telephone from the first custom home ever to be built in 1958 adjacent to the historic Silverado Golf Course in Napa, California.

Even as the Silverado Country Club was being developed, Napa residents Lloyd and Jane Bryan were creating their dream home near the corner of Westgate and Milliken Drives in Napa, California. The intersection would later become the eastern gate of the Creekside Condominium development at Silverado.

The home would amazingly survive the devastating 2017 fire that destroyed so many of these historic homes and yet it survives today as a remnant of the original vision for elegance and classic California living that once surrounded this historic property.

Lloyd Louis Bryan (1903 - 1985) and Jane Frederick Fay Bryan (1907 - 2004) were prominent members of the Napa community throughout the 1950's through the 1980's as Lloyd managed his local business with sales of International Harvester tractors and Willys Jeep vehicles. That business site was later sold to Gott's Roadside Hamburgers as they established their newest restaurant location in downtown Napa's Oxbow Public Market in 2007. In his final years, Lloyd remained active with various engineering projects and patent developments... and also as a respected local artist and sculptor.

When the Bryans sold their home during their move from Napa to San Rafael (in 1985), this original telephone was gifted to a beloved neighbor who also lived adjacent to the North Course at Silverado.

The telephone number, as shown in the photos, is the original telephone number for Lloyd and Jane Bryan at Silverado.

The classic phone was provided to the Bryans in May 1973 as they upgraded from their original telephone... to the "new and improved" phones with cords that could be removed and adjusted without calling Bell System technicians.

An original Western Electric telephone... as originally used at the first private estate home constructed adjacent to the Silverado Golf Course.
