THE SHADOW WAR OF HAWKMAN: A four-issue limited series published by DC Comics from May until July of 1985. The series was written by Tony Isabella with artwork by Richard Howell and Alfredo Alcala. A group of Thanagarians have come to Midway City on Earth. The group is equipped with Dimensiometers similar to the one used by Carl Sands the Shadow Thief. The Dimensiometer enabled the group to transform from a three-dimensional being into a two-dimensional shadows. The gang's leader Fell Andar details his plans for his upcoming Shadow War. Using Thanagarian technology (mostly the Absorbascon), the advance force will tap into the minds of Earth's most influential people in order to finance and orchestrate the slow takeover of the planet.
HAWKMAN SPECIAL: This is an epilogue to the Shadow War mini-series. The Winged Warrior journeys to the Land of the Dead for the sake of those he's murdered. Awaiting him are a landslide of mystical adventures and special guest villain The Gentleman Ghost! Scripted by Tony Isabella, penciled by Richard Howell, inked by Ron Randall, with a cover by Howell and Dick Giordano.
HAWKMAN (Volume 2): An ongoing series, published by DC Comics. It ran from 1986 until 1987. It starred Hawkman and Hawkwoman. It carried on the tail of the Thanagarians attempt to take over Earth. Unfortunately, the effects of the Crisis on Infinite Earths had not yet taken hold and this would soon cause the entire Multiverse to collapse and this sory line to happen on Earth-85 instead on Earth-Prime.
