Built in 1855 as a residence for officers of the Arsenal Military Academy, the building was spared during the burning of Colmbia in the Civil War, and in 1868 it was selected as the official residence for the State\'s governors. The mansion, however, is more than a residence. The public rooms are a repository of treasures - silver and china, furniture paintings and documents - that remain permanently in the mansion. All are illstrative of the rich history and heritage of South 5/8\" x 3 5/8\" x 1\" Made in U.S.A.
