Sgt. Walter Fasel-Knocks Out 14 Russian Tanks for K.C., WW II-Signed Photo / COA:
$69.95

This is an original, hand-signed 4x6 B&W photo of and by Sgt. Walter Fasel, Knights Cross Receipient for the destruction of 14 Russian Tanks, repelling 3 Armor / Infantry Attacks, capturing a Russian Headquarter Bunker (still operational) and restoring the German Front Lines, during WW II, in Excellent Condition.(Includes a COA-Certificate of Authenticity---with a Lifetime Money Back Guarantee for signature authenticity). Sgt. Fasel was assigned as a Zugfuhrer of several PAK (Anti-tank guns) of Fusilier Regiment 26th of the 30th Infantry Division during WW II. He was awarded the Knights Cross after the hard fought battle in mid August 1943 around the Russian city of Staraya. After a heavy Russian artillery barage knocked out all their PAKs and killed most of the crews, Sgt. Fasel managed to find one anti-tank gun baddly damaged but its "emergency sight" still intack. Bringing forward his messenger from his field headquarters, and together with one gunner, Sgt. Fasel made ready the PAK and braced for a major Russian Armor / Infantry attack (of Company size) that was steamrolling toward the break in the German's front line. As the Russian tanks approached (T-34's and several Heavy Tanks) with supporting heavy assault infantry following behind, Sgt. Fassel and crew fired their PAK in rapid fire destroying the 3 lead tanks. Without delay, Sgt. Fasel and crew quickly moved their PAK to adjacent ground and as the next three tanks appeared, they knocked those out as well. Quickly, they moved their gun again which made it near impossible for the advancing Russians to target their position with accuracy. Once again, Sgt. Fasel and crew, destroyed 3 more Russian tanks, in addition to ravaging the now defensless Russian Assault troops that were in the open without their armor. The Russians took heavy casualties in their Infantry before breaking off their attack and retreating. Altogether, 9 Russian tanks lay destroyed and smoking including 3 Russian heavy tanks, and about 100 Communist Russian casualties out of a Company of 250 men. Though their armor was largely destroyed, the Russians attempted more break-through attacks with their remaining infantry and 1 or 2 of their remaining tanks the rest of the day. Sgt. Fasel quickly assembled an additional 10-12 men from his headquarter's staff and fought in close quarter combat against the attacking Russians. In all cases, the Russians were replelled with heavy losses and with the destruction of an additional Russian heavy tank. With the Russian troops all but decimated, Sgt. Fasel and his men were able to switch over to the offensive, and on his own initiative drive forward pushing the remaining Russians futher back and capturing an operational Russian Bunker Headquarters which quickly became German. Over the next two days, the Russian's attempted to counter-attack in weaker numbers but on each attack, lost futher territory while taking more casualties. At last, by the end of the 3rd day, the German Front Lines were firmly retaken / held, and there were no more Russian attacks along that sector for a time. During these battles, Sgt. Fasel was wounded twice but continued to fight and lead his men and by the end, his total number of enemy tanks destroyed was 14. For his battlefield achievements conducted on his own inititiative, Sgt. Fasel would be awarded the Knights Cross. Former Sgt. Fasel passed away 2013. Estimated Market Value = $129.
