I hesitate to call anything rare in my listings, but I did not see many of these around the internet. This has been in my collection for at least 25+ years. I think these hard plastic Halloween items were manufactured in the 1940's through the 1950's. The front of the tambourine shows the relief of dancing costumed party goers. It is complete. I see no damage, chips, repairs or cracks. It is signed "A LAPIN PRODUCT NEWARK 5 NJ MADE IN THE USA PAT PEND" Zones were used by the postal system from 1943 until the early 1960's.
This front, being all black, was fairly difficult to photograph. There are a few wear marks from age, but otherwise, I see no damage.
