Very Rare Saber Toothed Cat Saber Tooth. The Metailurus genus is an extremely rare type of Saber tooth cat, seldom seen in the fossil record. Metailurus are unique in that their teeth are more rounded than other saber cat species. The most complete specimen known is of a jawbone and several limb bones. This example of a Metailurus Saber Tooth is 2.5\" long, it is missing most of the Root, otherwise it would\'ve been ~4.5\". What is of the root is well preserved with the original hollowed out area in the inside present, highlighted by some nice crystallization. If you have any questions I\'m happy to help.
