Undoctored, early 1900s Perkins Marine Lamp Corp., Brooklyn, N.Y., 6½\"H Perko Wonder Junior skater\'s lantern in its original unpainted, formerly silvered tin or galvanized patina state that has age-appropriate oxidization, measures 10¾\"H with the bail handle in the up position. One panel of the clear glass globe is faintly embossed PERKO WONDER JUNIOR on three lines. A couple of the supplied pictures show some of the letters of this faint embossing. The lantern condition is remarkable for the vintage. The wick appears to be the original. Although there are a few dents to the screw-on ventilator cap, shown, the original glass globe only shows normal factory mold extraction cutting roughness at the top, with no chips, cracks or related damages. The bottom glass threading is smooth and free of nicks or flakes. Along with looseness play to the four bendable retaining tabs of the wick assembly, shown, the only other actual condition issue involves a less-than-snug fit of the wick assembly burner unit into the fuel chamber base. Although it will tighten, the fit is not a super tight, locking fit. As this lamp is being sold for decorative purposes only to be displayed within a collection of similar antique lanterns, it is not recommended to fill the reservoir with kerosene fuel and use. As the lantern is being sold as-found for display purposes only, I will not be responsible for any careless use or operation of this small antique skater\'s lantern for actual lighting purposes.
