Maker: This vivid handmade and hand painted square box is rich in the sunny colors of Sicily, where the La Musa studio has produced its artisan ceramics since 1953. The La Musa mark appears on the base.
Design: The bold and distinctive design - so closely associated with La Musa - features two highly stylized flowers and vibrant green leaves against a bright turquoise background.
Size: The box is 5 1/4 inches square and 3 1/4 inches tall.
Condition: It has no marks, nicks, cracks, scratches, stains, repairs or wear. There are three tiny chips on one corner that are shown in the photos wth the penny, and embedded dirt on the base; that too is visible in the photos. The box has the tiny imperfections that make Italian ceramics so distinctive and utterly charming, including air bubbles, pinpricks and uneven paint. The shape is slightly uneven.
A great addition to any collection of La Musa or Italian ceramics.
