Seen here atSwindon Works on 16 June 1957. GWR `4300\' class 2-6-0 No 4358 stands in the yard after attention in the works. Built at Swindon to a Churchward design, no fewer than 342 locomotives of this class were erected between 1911 and 1932. A batch built during the First World War was painted in unlined khaki livery and, at the time of writing, No 5322 preserved at Didcot, is turned out in this livery. By Nationalisation in 1948, the class had reduced to 241 locomotives, No 4358 was withdrawn in August 1959TYPE:Colour pictureMOUNTED
