Maker: Thesignatureof the respected Mexican artist Socorro Reyes appears on the bottom of this stylish blackware pot or vase.
Design: The pot\'sburnished black-on-black design is a fine example of Northern Mexico folk art from the Mata Ortiz pueblo in Casas Grandes, Mexico. It\'s an olla, modern yet traditional - at home as a contemporary design statement or as an homage to Mexican culture.
The base is not flat and the pot rolls easily when placed on a flat surface before coming to rest in an upright position.
Condition: It\'s in excellent condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, stains, discoloration, repairs or significant wear. There are a few tiny scratches and scuff marks that can be seen when the pot is held at certain angles.
Size: It\'s about 6 1/2 inches tall, 2 3/4 inches wide at the opening and about 7 1/2 inches wide at the bottom. It weighs 1 pound 6 ounces.
