Offered here is a vintage classicChildren's Nickel Magazine:"SNAPS A Comic Weekly Of Comics Stories By Comic Authors", "Bob Short; or, One of Our Boys", No. 24, March 24, 1900; VERY RARE -approx. 11" X 8", by Commodore Ah-Look, Published by Frank Lousey, New York. Issued weekly. Front cover lost, pages brittle on the edges and chipping as seen, spine separated; Back cover present but heavily stained and heavy odor. The rest is not stained. Acceptable for such a rare pulp.Oxidation as seen and brittle. WHERE are you gonna find another?In any condition!Came from the original family - purchased from a gentlemen whose great grandfather owned these originally.Shippedin plastic, between stiff cardboard and with delivery confirmation.

Snaps was published weekly by Frank Tousey from 1899 to 1901. Each 32page issue contained humorous stories written by authors with pseudonyms likePeter Pad, Tom Teaser and Sam Smiley. Tousey publishing describedSNAPSas“The only weekly series of funny stories published in the world.” The reader ispromised a comic: “printed in clear bold type and will be enclosed in ahandsome illuminated cover. Each story will be complete and will be filled withfunny incidents and situations from beginning to end.” Many issues ofSNAPSincludeda list of ten cent handbooks on subjects ranging from housekeeping andentertainment to etiquette and society and an invitation to join the Dime NovelClub.
