MURANO GLASS VASE by Alesandro Mandruzzato THIS IS A RARE SMALL GEM! Size 6.5”

San Marco Murano glass vase is one of the first handmade ground vase. It was inspired by Venice’s patron saint, San Mark. The shape is faceted in a regular way. The vertical edging lines are crossing in the center of the vase.

Sommerso is the glassmaking technique of creating two or more layers of contrasting glass without the colors mixing together. The technique was originally developed in the 1930's and later made famous by the work of Flavio Poli.

Vintage Vase; C.1970's Italian, hand-blown Murano, a faceted and polished, vessel and/or vase by Alesandro Mandruzzato. A sophisticated take with a symbiotic coloration combination of blue and yellow amber with a clear outer casing, and polished pontil base bottom. A wonderful prismatic style given to Murano's by Mandruzzato; with ingenuously interior color combinations, along with the polished and faceted sides, create this allusion.

Purchased in late 1970’s in Venice, Italy.

Condition:

Excellent to tea condition, perhaps one or two minor minuscule marks as image may indicate, otherwise very well maintained. No chips but some flea bites. Please keep in mind that glass art has imperfections such as mini bubbles etc. Pictures may have light reflections which show a marks.
