Samantabhadra, meaning \"Universal Worthy\" or\"All Good,\" is a revered bodhisattva in Buddhism deeply associatedwith the realms of practice and meditation. Forming the Shakyamuni Triadalongside Shakyamuni Buddha and the bodhisattva Mañjuśrī in Mahayana Buddhism,Samantabhadra holds a significant place in the spiritual pantheon. As thepatron of the Lotus Sutra, he is attributed in the Avatamsaka Sutra for makingten great vows that serve as the foundation of a bodhisattva\'s path.

In the realm of Chinese Buddhism, Samantabhadra isrecognized as Pǔxián, embodying the essence of action, while Mañjuśrī is linkedwith prajñā, or transcendent wisdom. Meanwhile, in Japanese Buddhism, thisrevered bodhisattva goes by the name Fugen and is particularly venerated inTendai and Shingon Buddhism.

Within the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism,Samantabhadra assumes the role of the Adi-Buddha, often depicted in anindivisible union (yab-yum) with his consort, Samantabhadrī. In his wrathfulform, he stands among the Eight Herukas of the Nyingma Mahayoga, knownspecifically as Vajramrtra.
