For Sale Russian Imperial Badge Sterling Silver The 11th Chuguev Ulan Regiment of Her Majesty the Empress Maria Feodorovna is a cavalry regiment of the Russian Imperial Army .
The seniority of the unit dates back to July 21, 1749, and the formation dates back to 1639 (see image of the regimental breast badge). Regimental holiday - October 1, Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary . During its history, the Chuguevsky regular regiment had various names (see section History). In the Russian Army The military unit was formed on July 21, 1749 from a 5- hundred-strong team of Svedets, consisting of three settled Cossacks (from city Cossacks living in Chuguev , Orel , Kursk ) and two Kalmyk companies , as the Chuguevsky Mounted Cossack Regiment [4] ( Chuguevsky Cossack Regular Regiment [5] [6] , Chuguev Cossack Regiment [7] ).
On August 12, 1787, during the 2nd Turkish War [8] , it was renamed the Ekaterinoslav Cavalry Cossack Regiment [4] .
