I have to clear somespace on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. THIS IS MY LAST ONE! I knowenough fishermen to be certain that their brains are always at least 10%occupied by thoughts of fishing, even when they are doing other things. Thislittle gem can sit on their desk or shelf at work to remind them of what isreally important in life. It can fuel their daydreams about what awaits themwhen they get their next chance to get to their favorite spot.

I am not a realfigures guy, so I was not surprised that I had not heard of Royal Darwinfigures. A Google search doesn’t reveal much, so I assume the outfit is nolonger in business. Their website (www.royaldarwin.com) is gone, buttheir box has the best clue as to their story. The company address is onCrowley Drive in Carrolton Texas. Many of you will recognize that as the homeof Squadron Products. I assume that at some point in the life of the company,ownership was held by Squadron. The box I am looking at has a 2010 date, sothese items may be long Out Of Production. Here is what I have found about thisintricately detailed figurine:

One of the most recognized freshwater game fish isthe Small Mouth Bass (Micropterus Dolomieu). The fish derives its name from thefact that the rear end of the lower jaw does not extend past the eye like itscounterpart the Largemouth Bass. The species resides in lakes and bays wherewaters are cold and clear and the bottoms are composed of rock and gravel. Thepreferred water temperature is 60 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The male is incharge of the eggs which hatch in 3-4 days. They mature at the age of three tofour years, but can live up to ten to twelve years. The normal weight is lessthan three pounds with a length of eight to fifteen Inch. The world record fora Small Mouth Bass was set in 1955, weighing in at a whopping twenty-two andone quarter pounds.
