Discriminating diners know that Roy Yamaguchi's 'Roy's Restaurants Pacific Rim Cuisine' worldwide have won acclaim. Scottsdale's version offered the same blending of Asian, Hawaiian and French flavors. Previously located in a small, upscale shopping area in North Scottsdale, thiswas a great gathering place. The menu had all of Roy's signature greats --- crunchy lobster pot stickers with ginger sauce, Chinatown chicken spring rolls with Mandarin orange-chile glaze, hibachi-barbecued salmon, meat loaf, oak-grilled filet and mahi mahi. Chef Roy Yamaguchi was in town often to check on the menu and quality. During the prime peak periodof this business it was the area's highly recommended preferred popularestablishmentto see and be seen. Celebrity chef Roy Yamaguchi was/is the brains behind this lively corporate restaurant, specializing in it's famous Pacific Rim Hawaiian Fusion cuisine. The Scottsdale Seville, located in the beautiful Scottsdale/Paradise Valley corridor boasting views of both the scenic Camelback Mountain and amazing floral colors of the desert. Most of the shops are gone. There are other shops and services, about 20. Located on the East side of Scottsdale Road, this is a walking shopping area and not a happy thing to do in summer. This is a shopping center that is probably everything it used to be, but the expectations were much higher. Most arealocals fondly remember the Starbucks when it was one of the first in the valley. Roy's American Restaurant and Ruth's Steakhouse were both here when it was a top dining destination. There are several other nice choices for dining and drinking though there is at least one space that can't hold a store orrestaurant. Stores at one time use to draw and fascinate customersmuch more. Definitely not low end, but not as high end as it once was in it's hay-day.
