Mimbres Turtle Gourd Rattle by Robert Rivera

This gourd has a turtle painted on one side. He has jet onyx eyes and a circle of Mimbres-style corrugated snakeskin for his shell with a turquoise stone accent. A beautiful gourd creation signed by Rivera. The turtle represents longevity and is believed by some Native Americans that we are living on the back of a turtle.

Beautiful Handmade Gourd ornament executed by the well-known Robert Rivera of Apache Tribal origin. Featuring a hand-painted turtle design with affixed jet black onyx for the eye and emphasis lining bottom of a turtle, stunning color throughout.

Condition

The craftsmanship is just excellent among his collection. Previously owned, but very well cared for. Little to no wear. This is a great deal for this piece of gourd art. There is no damage or repair; the small imperfections, on the top for instance, are due to the natural organic gourd material. The item you see is the item you will receive.
