Here is a nice specimen of rhomboidal Rhodochrosite xtls from the Burlington mine, near Butte, MT. This locality is one of the earlier silver/manganese ore deposits worked in the Butte area, starting around 1900, might have been discovered even slightly before, during the last years of the 1800\'s. This specimen is not perfect, with some minor contacts here and there, but considering the age in good shape. also, as it is growing in solid manganese ore, the contrast against the black manganese ore is quite nice.This specimen is 88 grams, or 3 1/8 oz. The size is 2 inch x 1.5 inch x 1 inch. Please be advised, I ship with Ground Advantage.
