Rare Wallace Nutting Child "Wavering Footsteps" Hand Colored Photo (about 15 x 18, including frame). The color on this Wallace Nutting is very nice, as seen in the photos. It is rare to find this title at all, let alone with great color. The glare in the photos is due to my poor camera skills.
This piece has the old pencil signature and title, copyright 1912 is on the picture. See photos
No water stains on the mat. Mat is in nice condition with a darkish tan tone, as shown in the photo.
The frame has some minor damage in the lower corners (see photos). It is a beautiful gold colored frame, with the original back and label from the company in Utica, NY that framed the picture. I like that no one has tried to put new backing on the piece- the paper backing is starting to come off (see photos), but I think this adds to the character.
Most astute Wallace Nutting collectors know that this picture is very similar to "The Coming Out of Rosa". However, as the same sophisticated Nutting collectors know, this title is much, much harder to find. I could only find a couple of examples of this picture that have sold in the last 15 years or so.This Wallace Nutting is ready to hang on the wall.
