Breithauptite, a rare nickel antimonide, is best known from its type locality in the world-famous St Andreasberg district. Even though this specimen is small, it is an amazing example of crystalline Breithauptite. There are multiple areas on the specimen were, when looking under the microscope, the Breithauptite occurs as small crystals and there are multiple areas with small crystals. On one side of the specimen, there is also small cubes of galena as well as possible skutterudite or another nickel mineral. The last mines in Andreasberg closed around 1910 so many of these specimens date back to that period or came from a larger specimen that was trimmed down in size.
