Up for sale is this wonderful pair of hand carved mid century oak wall plaques. They were carved by modernist artist Simon Randers of Denmark and date from the late 1950\'s. The majority of Randers work was done using \'teak wood\' but in his early years he used oak. These plaques are matching although one is slightly longer than the other. They are each carved from one piece of wood (nothing applied). I am not certain what the carvings show ? Possibly a bird or an airplane ?. I was able to see a similar carving in the same style that was listed as a \'car\' ?. The wood appears to be polished although he often \'oiled\' the wood. One measures 14-3/4\" long x 8-1/4\" at the wide end and 5\" at the narrow end. Approx. 1-1/4\" in depth. The smaller one is 14-1/4\" long x 8-1/4\" x 5\". Both come in excellent condition without damage or repairs. They have been used and shows some signs of wear. Both show a burned name mark \'Simon\' on the reverse side.Buyer pays only actual shipping costs with no added charges. You are offerding on both plaques.
