This is just a great original piece. For those of you that follow my store, you know that I have been offering more and more pictorial maps over the years. They have become highly collectable and I have even been selling quite a few to different institutions. This one is special to me as my son currently attends Tufts University. I am offering this one out because I already have an example in my collection. This is an original pictorial map by Ernest Dudley Chase. Chase is one of the most important pictorial cartographers and his works are highly collectable. Map measures 19 x 25 1/4 inches and is in excellent condition. Great original color. There are a few edge bumps (see upper left corner) and a few small edge tears and smudges but overall it is in really incredible condition. When you matte and frame this map you will see no issues at all. I have found one example in the Tufts library that dates it to 1955. I believe it is more likely 1952 as these kind of maps were done to commemorate 100 anniversaries and things like that. Either way it definitely is an original and dates to the 1950s. I can only find one other having sold out there and that one went for a lot more than I am asking. Map is stored in a tube and will be shipped that way.
