is the title of the 1969 Rosenthal Christmas Plate, the 60th plate in the series which started in 1910. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a town on a plateau \"over the Tauber River\", located in the Franconia region of Bavaria in southern Germany. Its well-preserved medieval old town and surrounding town walls attract tourists from all over the world. The scene on this plate is the most photographed location in the town, and one of the iconic images of Germany.Hand painted (\"handgemalt\") under the glaze (\"unterglasur\") in muted shades of blue, yellow, green, brown and tan. The central scene is banded with gold, and bears the inscription “WEIHNACHTEN 1969” (Christmas Night 1969). Porcelain, approximately 8.5 inch (21 cm) diameter, original hanging wire attached to back by a plastic \"button\". Signed “Rosenthal, GERMANY”.
