is the title of the 1910 Rosenthal Christmas Plate, the 1st plate in the Rosenthal Traditional Christmas series (1910-1974). This plate features several snow covered farm building in a snow covered field, with forested hills in the background. It is Christmas Night in Bavaria; everything is very cold and very still. Inscribed at the top: WEIHNACHTEN (German for “Christmas Night”) 1910.Hand painted under the glaze in shades of blue with touches of brown and green, banded with gold. Approximately 8.5 inch diameter (21 cm). Artwork by Jul V. Guldbrandson. Signed Rosenthal Germany Handgemalt (“handpainted”). Attached plastic button for hanging wire, but wire is missing; needs replacement wire or alternate display, such as plate stand or plate hanger.
