REDUCED!! This beautiful sterling silver, pietersite and Kingman turquoise pendant was designed and hand-crafted in 2022 by renowned Navajo artist, Richard Tsosie. It is a symbolic and sophisticated reversible, unisex creation. The pendant, including bale is approximately 2 1/2\" x 1 1/2\" and weighs 39.3 grams. The sterling chain (included) is 18 3/4\" and weighs 14.2 grams. One side of the pendant features a large pietersite cab and the other, a meticulously overlaid and reticulated image of a Native American man with eagle, other imagery. This overlaid side of the pendant features a Kingman turquoise cab set into the bale. Please refer to photos.
Pietersite is a durable and resilient member of the quartz family and was discovered in Namibia, Africa in 1962. Namibia is the only place it is known to exist. Its swirling colors of browns, blues, golds, greys and greens resemble a storm, giving it the name of \"tempest storm\". It is believed to cleanse the aura and restore calm to its wearer.Richard Tsosie is a renowned Native American/Navajo artist. His work is highly collectible and spiritual and is featured in prestigious galleries, museums and books. Many sellers mistakenly describe Richard\'s work as \"tufa cast\" when it is in fact, overlay. In the 1980\'s Richard \"accidently discovered\" a process called \"reticulation\" which he created when he noticed that silver filings were fusing to create a unique finish that contrasts with the polished gold and silver metals and stones and which has become a hallmark of his work. Richard uses the highest quality natural turquoise as well as other precious and semi-precious gems. His work most often depicts symbols of his Navajo culture and often reflects the colors and stones of the four sacred mountains of the Navajo Nation (jet, shell, coral and turquoise) and which enable people to live in harmony with their Creator and nature.
